SUGGESTED TRAVEL TIPS

Preparing for your trip:

1. Purchase Travel Insurance

Be prepared for the unexpected. Travel protection can turn a horrible situation into a bearable irritation.

2. Dress for the weather

Weather can be unpredictable, but we should try to be prepared by checking forecasts and weather charts for the area we will be visiting. Use the layering technique to outsmart the weather.

3. Medical and Health

Travel with your medical history. Check your vaccinations with your doctor. Bring two of everything medical; prescriptions, glasses, dentures. Notify tour operator of any special dietary needs.

5. Traveling by air

Move around as much as possible to reduce swollen feet and ankles. Check with your doctor if compression socks might be advised. Do in-seat exercises. Set your watch to your destination time. Drink plenty of fluids, but avoid alcohol.

6.Money

You can usually use your ATM card overseas for the easiest access to local currency. Have a small amount of cash on hand before you leave, for tips and taxis. Your local bank will be able to supply you with foreign currency. They may require advanced notice.

4. Packing

Enclose a copy of your itinerary and your passport in each bag.  Don't overpack. Coordinate your wardrobe around a single color. Minimize wrinkles in shirts and dresses by keeping them buttoned up.
